Hotel giants going green.
Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel chain, said Wednesday it will eliminate small plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner and bath gel from its hotel rooms worldwide by December 2020. They’ll be replaced with larger bottles or wall-mounted dispensers, depending on the hotel. Read more at USA Today.
Scandinavia’s biggest offshore wind farm is open.
The largest offshore wind farm in Scandinavia is officially open. In a ceremony Thursday, state-owned Swedish energy firm Vattenfall inaugurated the Horns Rev 3 facility, which is located in the North Sea, off Denmark’s west coast. Read More at CNBC.
Nordstrom launches online curation of sustainable goods from over 90 brands.
Nordstrom on Friday said it’s launching a new online page for more than 2,000 products from 90 brands “that are made from sustainably sourced materials, manufactured in factories that meet higher social or environmental standards or that give back.” Read more at Retail Dive.
