STOKED summer camp is a success

Kindhumans is proud to announce the success of STOKED’s first summer skate camp program. Last June, STOKED focused all their fundraising efforts into supporting a 6 week camp for middle schoolers. The goal was to provide instruction in skateboarding and basic (STEM) education to 150 students; while at the same time employing STOKED’s older students as mentors for the camp. $30K in cumulative small donations were quickly raised and another $30k in matching donations were contributed by Evo and Kindhumans. The $60K in total donations meant the camp was on — success!

Funding the camp was the first win, but the real triumph was how many high fives, smiles, and skate tips were shared. When all was said and done, the camps in NYC and LA were able to provide skateboard instruction for over 100 students. A few kids learned to ollie, others to kick-flip, and others just learned they have a supportive community that wants them to succeed. The kids were, pardon the pun, Stoked! Check out the video and photos from the camp to see for yourself.

Kindhumans is proud to help STOKED.org leverage board sport culture to empower underserved youth. As a community, we believe we can support and help kids reach their fullest potential.
