If you’re a cotton swab user, I would suggest using cotton swabs with the paper sticks. Avoid the ones with plastic stems. This reusable swab seems like a great alternative. However, it’s still a plastic object which will not break down organically in the environment. Plus, since this swab is silicone, it doesn’t absorb liquid in the ear. If anything, it probably pushes earwax up against the eardrum more easily than a standard cotton swab. You can find organic cotton swabs at places like Whole Foods and Natural Grocers as well with paper stems.
It feels great inside the ear because it kindly scratches the inside, then you just wash it and it’s ready for the next use. I still use cotton swabs, but thanks to this I’m using less.
