Kassia Meador

Kassia Meador is simply a rad and kind human being. California-born and bred, Kassia Meador began surfing at age 14. By 17-years-old, Kassia was a sponsored pro-longboarder, traveling the world. Known for her graceful surf style, Kassia was crowned the “queen of noseriding” by the New York Times and in 2011 ranked 2nd on the WSL women’s longboard tour. In 2013, Kassia left sponsored surfing to build a brand that focused on quality instead of quantity, working towards more conscious solutions rather than contributing to the larger global issues. In 2015 she launched KASSIA+SURF, a brand for women by women with design rooted in authenticity gained through 23 years experience.

Leah Dawson

Leah is a visionary and story-teller with a deep passion and understanding of the healing powers of the ocean.

Leah is a professional surfer who dances on waves with a style that is so graceful and distinguished, you can tell it’s her on a wave from a mile away. As a media producer and filmmaker, Leah has been responsible for telling the story of our projects through beautiful films. She utilizes her athletic platform to speak out for gender equality in surfing, environmental activism, and policy reform. She hosts women’s surf retreats, holding space for ocean healing and sharing her knowledge from a lifetime of surfing. She also works as a live camera operator for the WSL. Her roots in the ocean run deep and her love for humanity inspires her stories.

Becky Mendoza

Becky is a magnetic woman who has a tremendous passion for helping others and for the greater good of our planet and its living beings.

Her friendly nature and unwavering determination guides her uncanny ability to connect with people. As an immigration attorney and founder of Action Sports Law Group and as CTF’s Executive Director, she is highly respected and appreciated within the action sports community, her local community, and in the non-profit world.

As a Cuban-American raised in Miami, Becky’s heritage and understanding of diversity, mixed with her profound sense of purpose and motivation in life, have been integral to the creation, development, and leadership of Changing Tides Foundation.

Suzi Wilkenfeld

Suzi is passionate about her family and giving them the happiest and healthiest lives possible. As a mother of two, one of Suzi’s main goals has been to teach her daughters that ingredients matter. What we put in and on our bodies has a profound effect on our health as well as an impact on our planet. The inspiration for Kindhumans was born from the countless hours spent researching healthy products for her family and friends. With that, came the motivation to help other people easily understand and purchase products that are healthy and sustainable.

Prior to working on Kindhumans, Suzi established a career in media, marketing, and sales which brings a unique perspective to the world of honest, transparent brand + consumer engagement. She is a truth-seeker, an unrelenting researcher, and a self-taught health advocate, which makes her an incredible asset to setting our brand guidelines and product standards.

Chanelle Sladics

X-Games, US Open, Dew Tour medalist Chanelle Sladics has defied the odds of becoming one of the best snowboarders in the world, even though she’s from a beach city in Southern California. She grew up surfing and skateboarding and quickly became a triple threat when she learned how to snowboard. Her tight bonds and love for nature and the environment inspired her to start an award-winning BCorp, Simply Straws, with her family, providing solution-based alternatives to disposable plastic straws. Chanelle is a proud ambassador and spokeswoman for several nonprofits, like Protect Our Winters, Keep a Breast Fdn, Bcorp, and more.

She is a spokesperson for sustainable business and conscious living, speaking at events, conferences, and even at the United Nations. She is also the founder of PRSNT, a group that hosts women’s adventure retreats and outdoor mindful experiences all over the world with Kjersti Buaas. Both hold a passion for sharing the power of the PRSNT moment, in their own unique way. She has a thirst to learn and has a Permaculture Design Certificate, Wilderness First Responder, and is a certified yoga/meditation teacher. Post competing, Chanelle has done sideline reporting for ESPN and action sports events all over the world. Kjersti Buaas

Kjersti Buaas, a four-time Olympic snowboarder from Trondheim, Norway, has won medals in the Olympics, X-Games, and all other top world events like the US and European Open. Her youthful, positive attitude has kept her on top of her sport for almost two decades, a rare accomplishment in the action sports industry. She is using her platform as a professional athlete as a force for good; she works with several nonprofits like Protect Our Winters and she supports responsible companies.

She founded PRSNT with Chanelle Sladics, hosting women’s adventure retreats and mindful outdoor experiences. She has a permaculture design certificate, Wilderness First Responder, and is a MindBody Green certified meditation teacher. Kjersti is also a Kindhumans advocate, spreading and extending messaging like “Kindness. Pass It On” throughout the world, through guided meditation and an active, playful, healthy lifestyle.

Elena Hight

Two-time Olympian, X-Game Gold Medalist, and Burton US Open Champion—Elena Hight has a trophy cabinet and list of accolades that have been stacking up from a young age. At age 13, Elena became the first female to land a frontside 900 in competition, and in 2013 she became the first snowboarder ever to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo in a halfpipe contest! Beyond her impressive athletic track record, Elena has a passion for mindful living and environmental conservation.
